This was the first time we have all stayed together and we were a bit worried at first that we would be too cramped but this house was perfect for all of us. So many places to sit and be together or enjoy separate indoor hobbies. The artwork and stained glass were nice touches but the huge Whale sculptures were totally unique. Outside the pool and sundeck were great. My husband and I loved the privacy of the jacuzzi :) restaurants and beaches were all close by. It was a trip of a lifetime. We would love to come back. Perfect for 5 couples, beautiful home! Awesome location!! Dinner on lanai or sundeck, then fun in the pool or a soak in the spa. So relaxing! Just 2 blocks to the beach and if you think that's too far, remember a house like this ON the beach would cost 2-3 times as much!! This is a fab deal, the rate when divided by 5 couples is really affordable. We were close to everything, excellent location. The day we drove to Hana and back allowed us to roam and enjoy other parts of the island. Can't go wrong here, it's a house out of a dream! A wonderful Maui vacation begins here!! Well maintained and upscale home close to Lahaina, Kaanapali Beach and just about anything you will want to do while on Maui! Our greeter explained what we needed to know about Hale Kohola and even scheduled activities for us! Huge sundeck, pool and spa. So much better than being at a crowded hotel. We will be back! Guest: Sue C Date of Stay: Nov 2011 Review Submitted: Dec 2011 The house was great and we had a great week!! Top stars in every way. The house is huge--far bigger than it looks in the photos. Everything you could ever want in terms of facilities. A house that is superbly built and everything works and is in perfect order. The grounds with all the trees and beautiful plants was a highlight for us with a beautiful pool and hot tub and a huge deck with 8 sun-beds + table and chairs + barbecue + beautiful views right and left to the sea. Lovely sunsets and sunrises from the second floor balcony with a big table and many chairs. Inside is unique and interesting. Nowhere has a near full size plaster female humpback whale and a baby hanging from the ceiling. Nowhere has columns ending in palm frauds with coconuts and bananas. Wonderfully quiet. Backing unto a golf course. Close to all amenities and many lovely beaches. Our favorite was Kapalua Beach (15 minutes). Lovely little town nearby. Supermarkets nearby that are open 24 hours. The house suited all of the people in our family group. All very baby-proof, so we didn't have to worry about the little 13 month baby. The 7 year olds loved every part, as did the 35-40s and us old farts at 65. The 7 year old twins said it was difficult to play hide and seek 'cause there weren't very many hiding places--our only facetious complaint. Kitchen had everything you could want. Many sets of nice dishes. Floating mugs for the pool and hot tub. We made a beautiful table for Christmas dinner. Also there were many things not listed in the ad such as several hair dryers. Also beach towels, water shoes to go into the coral, beach toys. Fantastic laundry with all supplies. At Christmas time, this house is expensive and worth every penny. The agency was also fantastic in every way. We had a small problem with one of the hot water heaters, and it was fixed before we could blink. They were totally accommodating in every way. And such nice people. They became our friends, not just agents. They arranged surf board lessons with a friend--much less expensive--and more personal-- and a lovely experience for our daughters.
